Individuals who do not yet or will not qualify for South Dakota Medicaid Benefits have the option to pay privately for their long term care stay. Custer Care and Rehab Center has standard private pay rates based on the room size the resident selects. 

Long Term Care Insurance policies assist policy holders in covering the costs associated with a long term care stay. We accept any valid policy and will work with you through the initiation and authorization process to receive your benefits.

Those who are eligible for South Dakota Medicaid may apply for Long Term Care Services and Supports to assist in covering the care needed during a long term care stay.

South Dakota Medicaid application and approval are required. Our knowledgeable Business Office and Social Services Departments are here to answer any questions you may have about paying for long term care and the process of applying for Medicaid. We will help you along the way from application to approval, ensuring that it is a simple and easily understood process for residents and their families.

Resource limits and determinations are set by South Dakota Medicaid and not this facility.

Custer Care and Rehab is in the process of becoming a Medicare Certified facility. This will allow the facility to participate in the skilled rehabilitation process and accept Medicare Part A as a payer source for the skilled rehabilitation benefit.
